I've Been Tagged For The First Time

I've been tagged by Joannbags so here goes.

So the rules …. I have to answer 6 questions about myself. At the end of the post, I then tag 6 people and post their names, then go to their blogs and leave them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read my blog. Then, I must let the person who tagged me know when I’ve posted my answers.

What was I doing ten years ago - 1998
Ten years ago I owned my own Post Office so was working 6 long days a week and had no time (or energy) for anything else.

5 things on my to do list for today

Do lots of muddy washing form yesterdays race meeting.
Change the beds.
Sort out something for tea.
Pop down into my office and catch up on some paper work.
Try to do at least one hours sewing!

Things I would do if I was a billionaire.
I wouldn't want to be a billionaire just have enough money to pay off my families mortgages and give the kids a good start in life. I think if you can keep your health you are a billionaire.

Places I have lived.
Compared to all the other tagged posts I have read this is going to sound very boring, I have only ever lived in the West Midlands, near to Dudley. We have got a Villa in Rojales In Spain, but I don't want to live there, only holiday there.

6 people I want to know more about

Philigry

Country Cottage Chic

Primrose Hill

A Brit In Spain

Darling Petunia

Off to try and do those five thing for today now.

Flowers Everywhere

It seems I can't get enough of flowers this week, even though I suffer from hay fever. The Clematis I purchased last year and is still in the pot waiting for a suitable spot to be planted in as come into flower and looks wonderful. I need to get a trellis for it and once the side of the house has been painted (which we have been going to do for the last 3 years) it can be planted there. We live in an Edwardian house and the original bays were beginning to rot away at the top so at last Hubby has managed to have a go at fixing them. Work has been a little quiet of late so the lad who works for him has helped too. I think they have done a good job at replacing the top sections of wood and the guttering. I love these windows and would hate to have them replaced.

This is the dress I managed to make whilst I had the house to myself on Sunday. I am really pleased with it and it fits very well ( even though I didn't try it on until it was finished!). I love the colour of the roses, all I need now is a nice blue necklace to finish the outfit off.

Off to make my Daughters birthday cards now, she's 17 next Monday, will post pics once she's opened them as she has a peek at my blog now and again.

Another Post at Last

It seems so long since I had the time to sit down and post on this blog (think I have forgotten what to do). Since my last post we have been away to Spain for a week, just me and the hubby, we left the kids home alone and they seemed to manage quite well. Our friends Jayne & Mark came with us and we had a wonderful time and the weather was glorious.

Jack & John working on Jacks car ready for race.

Jack has done a few more meeting in his Stockrod and won a trophy, hubby also had a go at racing and won a trophy but after one race meeting he decided to put his car up for sale so he could buy a Westfield racing car and that is where Jack and him have gone off today and left me alone at home to do a few hours sewing. Its been heaven and I have managed to finish a few things off. I have made this matching set of a wheat warmer, neck pillow, lavender hearts, and a bookmark for my Mother-in-Laws Birthday this week. I also managed to make a couple of Birthday cards using the scraps of fabric that were left over. I was quite pleased with this, hope she likes it.

Here are the cards.

Have been busy this week baking, tried to make bread but again it was too heavy (any tips anyone), but had a bit more success with this chocolate cake.

Just going to finish the hem on a dress for myself before they get home. Hopefully will have a few photos of it by tomorrow so I will try and post again.

Looking Forward to a Week Away

Seem to be so busy at the moment. We are going to our villa in Spain for a week with our friends in a weeks time and I have to finish off a load of paper work for my husbands business as it is our end of year. I hoped to make the Amy Butler Cami to take with me but time is running out fast.

We have been busy all weekend as my son does stock car racing and this weekend my husband decided to have ago. He did much better than I thought, he finished 2nd in his race.
Next time I post hope to have a few crafty photos.

Getting Things Finished

Managed to get a few things finished at last. I think its reading all those lovely blogs and seeing what everyone else makes that's given me the inspiration.

Made these little shoes out of felt for my niece and the cushions out of a remnant of fabric I had in my stash.
Also managed to make myself a blouse and a summer top out of cheesecloth. Pictures of these to follow.
Hopefully I will be able to post more often now.

Where as this week gone too!!!

I can't believe it is already Wednesday and the kids break up fron college tomorrow for two weeks. I wanted all my housework, washing and ironing finished but only managed to clean the bedrooms so far I'm sure the rest will be done before the weekend.

I have managed to finish off my Amy Butler tunic. I'm quite pleased with it but wished I had used a thicker material and I think this may crease quite alot. I found the pattern quite easy to understand and will probably make the cami next (this has got buttonholes I think so will have to have a practise before).
This afternoon I have had too make my daughter a fancy dress outift for tonights college disco. They had to go as something out of yellow pages, she chosse to go as a maid/cleaner. Short black skirt, white apron, black high heels, just how I do my housework!! How I wish I was young again.
Hopefully she will have some photos and I will post one later in the week.

Ebay Update

Busy few days so not much time for blogging. Here is the link to our ebay page for those who were interested. Sold two items so far out of six. One was the pink and white floral bag from the picture below so I'm quite pleased.

Have made a start on the Amy Butler tunic and have also booked my daughter and I a couple of train tickets to London for Saturday as she has a days holiday from work. Hope to do a spot of sightseeing and also a bit of retail therapy.
